Who the Firewalk Instructor Training course isn’t a good fit for

by | Mar 21, 2018

The Firewalk Instructor Training Course (The FIT) is good for everyone but not everyone is good for the Firewalk Training Course.

When it comes to taking a Training Course, there is one reality many people don’t necessarily accept: Some courses aren’t a “good fit” for everyone.

Yes, it’s true, which is exactly why we freely admit, The Firewalk Instructor Training course is NOT a good fit for everyone.

We get it, you have become inspired and motivated to train as a Firewalk Instructor. That part is great, it really is. The reality is, The Firewalk Instructor Training course does not suit everyone.

Good Fit or Bad Fit?

Here at Firewalking International, we have years of experience, across numerous disciplines, delivering training and instructor courses. We know who we are and we know where our strengths and weaknesses lie. And when it comes to the Firewalk Instructor Training course, we know the good and the bad, the hard and the easy.

We also know who will be a “good fit” and who will be a “bad fit”.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
George Bernard Shaw

Every week, people from around the globe, contact us about Training as a Firewalk Instructor. Some of these people have experience of Firewalking and some have none. That doesn’t matter. Some are motivational speakers and trainers and others are looking to re-energise themselves. Again, that doesn’t matter. Some want to start a new business, and some want to compliment an existing business. Guess what? That doesn’t matter either.

What does matter is how you will be when you are on this course. Remember, The Firewalk Instructor Training course is for 5 days. These are intense, long, challenging, exciting and incredible days. You need to be sure you will be a good fit.

Because of this, and to save everyone time, we’ve made a list of “personality traits” that we feel the Firewalk Instructor Training course won’t bring value to:

The Firewalk Instructor Training course is NOT a good fit for you if…

You are a closed mind thinker. Being open-minded is about being receptive. It means being receptive to ideas that are odd and unfamiliar. You welcome all and push away none. Because of these traits, you are more creative, more innovative, and thus bring more value to the Firewalk Instructor Training course.

You don’t like to get your hands dirty. The Firewalk Instructor Training Course is hands on. We will be outside for a lot of it and you will be handling firewood, preparing Firewalk sites and then some. You might not plan to be doing this part of a Firewalk when are delivering events, but you need to be prepared to do if for the 5 days you are with us.

You are looking for the lowest price training. There are Firewalk Schools that charge less than we do for their training. If you are basing your training needs on price alone, please know that we are not the training school for you.

You don’t deal well with constructive feedback. We train the best Firewalk Instructors. Therefore, it’s our duty to always be 100% frank, honest, and concise with our training, development, and feedback. This doesn’t always go down well but truth, integrity and authenticity are crucial for those who want to train as Firewalk Instructors.

There’s more…

You aren’t a Team Player. You will be working closely with the other students throughout the Firewalk Instructor Training Course. We train, work, and eat together. We will be together a lot and you need to be part of the team.

You aren’t prepared to switch off your phone. We don’t completely ban phones from the 5-day Firewalk Instructor Training Course. But we don’t expect to see them in use at all during the training house (about 12 hours a day. It’s important to live this course for real. Free from distractions and not through a camera. Be focused. Put your Social Media and emails on hold. Check in at home in your free time.

You won’t give the course your 100%. Closely linked to the previous point but also, you must be prepared to give this course your all. Be 100% committed. Try things that scare you. Get outside of your comfort zone, wherever that may be.

If none of that applies to you or makes you reconsider whether or not you want to train as a Firewalk Instructor, we would love to hear from you.
