Who Trained Tony Robbins to Firewalk?

For those of you that don’t know, Tony Robbins, is an American author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and life coach. Robbins is known for his infomercials, seminars, and self-help books including Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within.

His flagship seminar, Unleash the Power Within (UPW) has now been host to over 1.5 million delegates and that number just keeps rising.

UPW is a 4 day seminar and is where many people, including myself, experienced their first ever Firewalk.

With so many delegates walking over the hot coals I think it would be safe to say that Tony Robbins has introduced more people to Firewalking than anybody else on the planet. In fact, with only an estimated 6 million Firewalkers in the world, one quarter of those will have done so at one of Tony’s events.

It is therefore not uncommon for many people who have Firewalked with Tony to want to learn more about Firewalking and where he learned.

It wouldn’t surprise me if you were a little confused with who trained Tony Robbins to Firewalk. Many, many different Firewalk Instructor Schools still to this day, claim that they taught Tony Robbins to Firewalk. These claims are of course totally false and misleading and just part of their marketing, enabling them to sell tickets onto their Firewalk Instructor Training courses.

So, who trained Tony Robbins to Firewalk?

Well Tony learnt to Firewalk with Tolly Burkan and Peggy Dylan. I believe Tony had attended a workshop and was actually going to model Firewalking and add it to his own seminars. The way I remember Tolly telling me, was that he then contacted Tony and said if he was going to offer Firewalking he’d better do his Instructors course, which of course he did. Now I’m not 100% certain whether the course was under the umbrella of Sundoor or F.I.R.E. but nevertheless Tony was certified as a Firewalk Instructor.

Tolly Burkan and Peggy Dylan have since trained many, many Firewalking Instructors and also many Master Firewalk Instructors. Many of these now boast that they trained Tony Robbins to Firewalk. Of course technically if F.I.R.E or Sundoor certified Tony the organisation could claim it was their course that trained Tony.

The truth is we have Tolly and Peggy to thank for training Tony Robbins and introducing so many of us to Firewalking. And it is good to know that whichever school you choose, many of the teachings are the same as those taught to Tony Robbins on his Firewalking Instructor Training course.
