What are Empowerment Activities?

by | Jun 4, 2018

So, Firewalking is Firewalking and Glass Walking is Glass Walking. But what on earth are High Impact Empowerment Activities? Have you heard of Empowerment Activities and wondered what they are? Or what about Breakthrough Activities? In this post we are going to do our best to explain how we define Empowerment Activities and give you some insights on their use

For ease of reading, Empowerment Activities and High Impact Empowerment Activities are one and the same. In fact, we could easily replace High Impact with Impactful and they would carry the same meaning. And you can take it as read that each Empowerment Activity we offer is impactful.

So, let’s get a bit more clarity on Empowerment Activities.

Empowerment Activities Defined

According to the Oxford Dictionary. Empowerment is defined as:

The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.

With Breakthrough being defined as:

A sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development or an instance of achieving success in a particular sphere or activity.

Admittedly, both are very similar, especially how we use them, but they are still different. We look at them as this:

Empowerment activities give lifelong benefits to the person that overarch the specific benefit(s) of a Breakthrough activity. Of course, when we look at the Breakthrough Activity as an activity that is designed to create lifelong benefit to the person, this can lead to claims of semantics. It must be remembered that they are both part of a continuum of development and change. For that reason, we tend not to get too caught up differentiating between them and instead go with the term that we think works best: Empowerment Activities.

“The process of spotting fear and refusing to obey it is the source of all true empowerment.”
Martha Beck

So, what Empowerment Activities do we offer?

Well, although I said Firewalking is Firewalking and Glass Walking is Glass Walking, they are two of the most popular Empowerment Activities that we offer. Next in line are Arrow Snapping, Board Breaking, Rebar Bending, and Brick Breaking.
